India is one of the major producers of plantation crops with an annual export earning of over Rs 3700 million. This constitutes 3/4^th of earnings from exports of agricultural commodities and 1/4^th of earning from all export. Although these crops occupy less than 2 % of the total cultivated area, we are among the leading producer of tea, cashwnut, arecanut, cardamom, coconut and pepper.

Diseases play a very crucial role in the production of plantation crops. History reveals that coffee rust epidemic devasted whole coffee in Sri Lanka during 1888 changing drinking habit from coffee to tea. This book deals with the disease of major plantation crops like coconut, arecanut, oilpalm, pepper, betelvine, cashew, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, rubber, cardamom, cocoa, coffee, tea, date palm and turmeric. Description on important disease include the symptoms, aetiology, host pathogen interactions, environmental relationship and integrated disease management.
