ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Prof. L.L. Somani (b. 1945) has a long experience of teaching, research and extension in the field of soil science. Presently he retired (2005)from the post of Director, Resident Instructions in the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. He is the author /editor of over 230 books. Dr. Somani has published 400 research papers and articles in National and International journals of repute. He has been honoured with several prizes for academic excellence.
Prof P.C. Kanthaliya (b.1950) Retired from the post of Professor & Hreadr in the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. He has wide experience of working in Soil Survey & Land Use Planning, Soil Salinity & Water Management, Dryland Agriculture. He has also served as Project In-charge of AICRP on Long Term Fertilizer Experiments. He has published over 50 research papers and several technical articles in Journals of repute. He is active member of several academic societies, besides being a councilor of Indian Society of Soil Science.
