About the Book (Vol – 2)

The book offers a comprehensive and coherent account of entire fields of Agronomy comprising Agro-meteorology, soil management, tillage, crop management, nutrient management, water anagement, dryland agriculture, weed management and agroforestry.

The second volume of the book incorporates objective questions in the form of multiple choice questions, fill in the blanks, true or false, match the correct pairs besides latest memory based questions asked in various competitive examinations and serve as ready material for all inquisitive minds to prepare for any traditional or internal grading system examinations, competitions, interviews, viva-voce in the discipline of agronomy and allied subjects. The answers are given alongwith the questions for easy accessible by the readers. Fill in the blanks and multiple choice questions embodied in the book will enable the readers to revise the knowledge quickly vis-à-vis inculcate an understanding of the subject in depth. The book will be very useful for the students as well as teachers of agronomy dicipline. 

About the Book (Vol – 1)

The first volume of the book is written in subjective question answer form providing a ready material for all inquisitive minds to prepare for any traditional or internal grading system examinations, competitions, interviews, viva-voce in the discipline of agronomy and allied subjects. The answers are self explanatory and enable the readers to revise the knowledge quickly vis-à-vis inculcate an understanding of the subject in depth. The glossary of agronomic terms and relevant information and agricultural statistics appended at the end is an added advantage to the readers to prepare for different competitive examinations and update their knowledge. The book will be useful for students and professionals as well as to agricultural scientists.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS 

Dr. P.L. Maliwal did his B.Sc.(Ag.) and M.Sc.(Ag.) Agronomy from the University of Udaipur, Udaipur in 1976 and 1979, respectively. He was awarded ICAR scholarship for his under graduate studies. He obtained Ph.D. degree from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur specializing in the field of weed management during the year 1987. Dr. Maliwal started his career as lecturer in the field of Agronomy at University of Udaipur, Udaipur. Dr. Maliwal served in different positions like Associate Director Research, Zonal Director Research, Director Extension Education and retired as Director Research from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (Rajasthan).  He has also written several books including  ‘Weed Management In Field Crops.,  ‘Weed Management In Horticultural Crops’, ‘Principles of Organic Farming’ and ‘Practical Manual on Weed Management’.

Dr. Maliwal has published more than 85 research papers and technical articles in various journals and magazines of national and international repute. He has also written books entitled “Agricultural Development in Rajasthan” and “Technologies for Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture”. Presently he is working as ICAR- emeritous Professor at MPUAT, Udaipur. He is the recipient of best university teacher award of MPUAT, Udaipur for the year 2001-02.

Dr. S.L. Mundra did his B.Sc.(Ag.), M.Sc. and Ph.D. (Agronomy) from Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner and Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur in 1985, 1987 and 2001, respectively. He has a long service experience of over 32 years of working in teaching, research and extension. He has published over 100 research and technical articles in different journals / magazines / newspapers of high repute in addition to book chapters and practical manuals. He is actively involved in guiding college students appearing for various competitive examinations. Dr. Mundra has been honoured by Maharan Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur for his distinguished work under IVDP Programme. The Lions Club, Udaipur has also felicitated him for his outstanding contribution. Presently he is working as  Director, Extension Education. MPUAT, Udaipur.
